I'm back again, I know it's been so long, but I've been slightly busy. I've been dealing with the general public, the boss, and college stuff. I don't know what was up with my boss, all I know is she was creepy, cut everybody's hours, was barely around and didn't pay attention to inventory since we ran out of things like straws, soda syrup, salt, sugar, and tea liners. There's probably more, but those were some of the things that were missing when I went to work in the past couple of weeks. Oh, and cheese and frozen chicken fillets, and chocolate syrup, not good things to be missing for a fast food place. See, cutting hours isn't that bad, I mean if business is slow, that's understandable, but I'm pretty sure doing this and changing everybody's schedule randomly without notification is wrong. The only reason I found out that I had to work different times was because one of my managers called me and asked if I was still available for Saturday, which was one of my original scheduled days. And that Saturday (which was last Saturday)was crazy.

First I had to run in and actually check if I was actually working at that time because the week before, the general manager told me to go home and come back two hours later because they didn't need me yet, and then I got sent home over 2 1/2 hours early, got a 30 minute break (which I shouldn't have taken if I knew they were going to make me go home that early), therefore I missed out on 5 possible work hours. Anyway, got the okay, the woman who's position I was going to take over for my shift was glad I was there and eager to get me all set up and move to another position. They put me on 'bubble' which is what we call the drive thru register at the first window, and that's great that I'm there and all that, but I'm still training on it in general and it was a very busy Saturday. (my drawer actually came out to over $1300, which is really good for about 5 hours) I'm actually loving the bubble, which seems to be one of the least favorite positions in the store, right up there with front counter and detailed cleaning.

But I love it, I even have a couple of funny stories from it already, like the fact that this one woman didn't pull up to the window right, and I had to get up on the windowsill and reach out to collect her payment, the people who like to pull up from the menu board to the first window because they think it'll make it easier to tell us face to face what their order is, when in fact it makes the whole line behind them start pulling up, making it harder in general, and the time I asked a woman if she wanted jalapenos on her lemon pie. <---I have a perfectly good explanation for that, on one of my first orders this woman talked so fast that I thought she said '#5' instead of 'lemon pie', and our number 5 is a burger with cheese and bacon on it, so I'm supposed to ask if they want jalapenos too. Before the woman could express her confusion, my manager jumped in on her headset and repeated back 'lemon pie? that'll be $1.06 at the first window.'

Anyway, back to Saturday, it was slightly crazy because we had half the amount of crew I've grown accustomed to work with, and worse was we had to new girls who are still training, one was on front counter by herself, while the other was working expedite (drinks and handing out the orders on drive thru), the one on expedite was okay, we've had her for a couple of weeks and she's slowly getting it, and I've actually worked on it with her, so I knew she was decent at it, or so I thought. But this one woman came through and all she wanted was a large UNsweetened tea, I rang it up correctly, have her at the window ready to pay and ask if she wants sugar or sweetner packets to go with it, she politely but firmly told me no sugar or anything. I go across the kitchen to the drinks to get it because we usually give people who order one or two drinks only, their drinks at the window since it's usually really fast to complete. The girl at the drinks is filling up a sweet tea for this order, easy to fix, just dump it out and get a new cup and do it right, it sucked she wasn't paying attention, but it's not hard to fix, and I told her it was an unsweet tea, and she's like 'oh' and starts fixing it, but after she dumped it, she used the same cup (that had sweet tea and could have traces of sugar in it)and started filling it up with the unsweet tea. I know this might not sound like a big deal, but it kind of is, first, if we make the wrong beverage, we're supposed to dispose of it and do it right, and second, what if this woman couldn't have sugar and got sick over it, no matter how small? I wanted to say that to her, but I was slightly blown away by the fact she just plain didn't care (when working with her prior to this she seemed to in general) and I explained that we're not supposed to do that, and she asked why and said how it was the same tea, and I think she even put a 'so?' in there because I stated how she was using the same cup in a tone like she should know better by now, and I don't remember what else I said, but I remember I really wanted to scream 'Are you stupid!?', I know I didn't do that, but I was so thinking it, and she looked at me like I was making a big deal out of nothing, and I would've fixed it too, but I had to answer the speaker to three orders, gosh I hope that woman didn't get sick or anything.

Other than that, we ran out of chocolate syrup and frozen grilled chicken fillets that I know of. And then we were expecting one of my managers to show up at 9 pm, my other manager had also sent him a list of things we really needed so he could pick them up before coming in, and we had no idea that the GM called to tell him to come in at 10 instead, so my manager called him to ask if he was coming (because he usually shows up early), and he told her he was told to come in at 10. That hour was hard, non-stop orders, ants that came in from the fact that the person before didn't wipe certain areas that were sticky and salty, shake machine nearly ran out of mix (from what I was told it can actually shut itself down for a few hours if it's too low)because I was over on expedite (I went on break and someone else replaced me on bubble, and I came back to an unstocked expedite station, because *that* girl doesn't care in general) by myself and was handing out all the food, which was piling up, before it got cold. Everyone was so happy to see the other manager show up when he finally did, and I somehow got to go home in the middle of the chaos, since a few other people were just coming in and I had been there for a little over 11 hours and had to be back in less than 10 hours later.

And then when I went to work on Sunday, there were only 3 other people there, two of them weren't even supposed to be there, since it was their day off, and half the people who were didn't show up, because they didn't know they were supposed to be there since the schedule had randomly changed on them. And then I went home around my time off, cooked dinner, and took a couple of practice Accuplacer tests. See, I got admitted at our local community college, and I have to take this test, see a counselor, and pay, to finish registering, so I'm taking practice tests, I'm so excited. And turns out I'm going to have some extra time since I had to call work for my schedule (boss got fired by the way, two of my managers are up for promotion in general, and my favorite one is going to get details about a GM position for her tomorrow, but she doesn't know if it's going to be for our store or a different one yet) and I don't have to go in until Friday, unless my manager calls me in before, but I've got this week for now, and all I'm worried about is making sure I remember all my basic math and English and everything.

Oh yeah, two more things, I wrote a new fic for the femslash08 ficathon, I was very surprised by the content that ended up in it, but porn happens *innocent shrug* (I wish I could find this old Torri Higginson icon that says that, but don't know if it's still around, and I don't remember if johnliz4ever made it or not) Oh, speaking of Torri Higginson, I just got Tek War from netflix in today, and so I'm going to go start watching it now, night for now.:)

I'm back, after about two and a half weeks of nothing, nothing that exciting going on here (;P), just working hard and having odd dreams, and watching movies. Oh, yeah forgot, I did in fact get my dad to take me to Borders to pick up my copy of Exes and Ohs, but we all went out as a family to lunch first (which I paid for:)), and then they just dropped me off while they went to get other stuff, leaving me alone in my favorite bookstore. I also picked up this funny astrology book called Herscopes, and then I think the Thursday after I picked up this really big book on Astrology called the 'Llewellyn's Complete Book of Astrology: The Easy Way to Learn Astrology'. Why I'm reading Astrology, I have no clue, but it's really interesting, can't wait to make and read my family's birth charts, show them it's not a total crock.;p

I've also been playing billiards, never really been good at it before, but I'm liking it now. We play in this Mexican restaurant that makes good taco salads that my friends keeps telling me how nasty my food looks (after I mix guacamole, beef, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, refried beans, and tomatoes together) and is I like those things why don't I eat an actual taco. Well, because it's not a taco *salad* if it's a taco. Oh and speaking of tomatoes, we're finally serving them again. In case you've been living under a rock for the past few weeks, there's been an outbreak of salmonella in the United States, and restaurants everywhere have not been serving raw tomatoes because their supplier's tomatoes have been recalled, and some have done it as a precaution, like us for example, see our supply wasn't recalled, but our company decided to stop serving them just as a precaution.

We had signs posted everywhere too (they probably should've been bright colored or cartooned, because lots of people completely ignored them), and even through they were big and on every entrance, drive thru windows, drive thru menu board, we got a few stupid people. Thankfully this didn't happen to me, but one of the women at work she was working drive thru one night, and passed out the correct order, not mentioning anything about tomatoes because if the customer doesn't mention it, then why bother, there's signs, and well the woman drove back through to yell at her about how they forgot the tomatoes. I've gotton a few 'I'd like extra tomatoes with that' and I'm saying 'I'm sorry, we're not serving tomatoes right now' and these people clearly don't read because I'm being questioned with 'what?' and 'why?' which is all on the door that they opened. There's been a few people who walk up to the counter and complain how they don't have tomatoes, and then lots of people have to ask if there are any, which I just want to tell them that it's all on the freaking signs that's in their eyeline when they're entering.

I'm just so tired of hearing about tomatoes, and so is everyone else I'm working with too, there was this joke going around that maybe we need to make the signs elementary level with a cartooned tomato and a slash through it, maybe they'll understand then. So, I made a fake sign for my manager that said 'NO TOMATOES! [cartooned tomato with slash] READ THE FRACKING SIGNS!' she got a total kick out of it and so did everyone else who saw it. Most of the people I work with are cool, some of them are starting to annoy me though. There's this girl who just stands there doing nothing, just talking to her boyfriend, who happens to work with us, and I clearly could use help but does nothing, it's annoying. Take for example I had to make all the drive thru drinks, she's on the board with her boyfriend, which is right next to my station, and he's pretty much got it all going and she's just standing there doing nothing herself, and one of the soda runs out of syrup and I tell them I'm going to change the syrup, so they know that nobody's going to be there, I run to the back and haul about 80 pounds worth of syrup around to change out two different sodas. Guess what I come back to, pile up of all the food to the orders and I'm behind with the soda because people who weren't doing anything themselves didn't bother to help out when they knew I needed it, because they're too busy making googly eyes at their boyfriend.

And then the other day I'm on register, and she's working the fries which is the station that's expected to help run the orders if the people in the front aren't able to, and they're able to, and well since I wasn't able to due to actually taking the orders, it was a good time to actually help, did I get any, not really, half the time she took it to the counter, and put it down and looked at me who was taking orders from a line of people and told me how there was an order when she was perfectly capable of running it, and then went back to stand there and talk to her boyfriend in the back. Thankfully I'm off 'til Friday, so I can chill and not think too much about it, some people are just stupid. And I probably need to get my mind off work too, it's starting to give me odd dreams.

I had this dream that we had a whole other wing behind the kitchen that was only opened during the early morning, and it was really crowded, and I saw Cathy DeBuono there, and I tapped her on the shoulder and tried to introduce myself but she didn't care and ignored me, and then I went to clean the bathrooms, which were like showers. There was throw up everywhere and I threw up myself, and then I went back out and one of my managers had tkaen care of everyone already, and I found Cathy DeBuono sitting with this guy who I assumed was a publicist or and agent or something. He kept trying to interrupt me when I was trying to tell her how we'd talk online before, and then she knew who I was and apologized for being rude, told me how someday I'd be a famous publisher and gave me a bunch of socks that had outback steakhouse on them. I then showed them to my manager, who laughed and was just as confused as I was.

Another part of that dream included me looking for chocolate twizzlers, so I could give them to Laurie Notaro at her book signing. I really want to go, it happens to be the night of the date of my dermatologist appointment, so I'd have to have a day off work anyway, which would be nice because I worked through a couple of things I really wanted to go to and I don't have to work during this one. And her new book comes out tomorrow, or should I say today, so I should go for now, would like to get a copy and start reading it later, night.:D

A gym, a bathroom, and bosses

Well, first, let's talk about work (again:P), that's what half this post I'm going to write up relates to. Monday, I believe, I was sent home early, something about business being slow (maybe everybody really is on a diet;P), well since it was about 2 hours early and in the middle of the day, I decided to go across the street to this big name gym, and check out their membership fees. Sounds like it should be easy, right? No, they told me how I needed to fill out all this paperwork with my personal information, weight, fitness goals, and how serious I was about coming to the gym, before they'd get somebody to look over it with me and help me find the right program for me. Now the last items about the weight, fitness goals, and seriousness, I can understand, but what do they need my number, address and credit card information for to tell me how much it costs? A 'liability wavier' in case I get hurt, because you know *talking* about the cost of something puts me at so much risk. I did tell them that I thought it was ridiculous and rhetorically asked how am I going to get hurt if all I want to do is *talk* about the price. They just told me they were sorry, but they couldn't do anything unless I signed.

When I got home, I told my mother all about it, and then she went to the website to find the price, and guess what? They don't tell you the price there either, but ask you for you credit card information to enter a 24 month contract with them, which is just wrong. My dad then called one up and explained how he didn't want to give out all the information they were asking for and just wanted to know about how much it costs, which they just told him (about $30-$40 a month, not really worth it in my opinion), and it just doesn't make a lot of sense. I mean, if I took the time to physically walk into their gym, and ask them in person, why couldn't they have told me instead of all this junk about getting my info, yet you call them up and they don't give you any problems about how you don't want to give it out to know, and they just tell you.

Anyway, something really odd happened at work. I had not checked the bathroom, and don't know when anyone else who was up front with me last had, but after I got off work, I went to use it, right, and I noticed that there was a little brown mess on the seat in one of the stalls, disgusting, but it wasn't that bad, I'd just tell someone about it after I got out. Well, I get out, and I notice that the floor doesn't feel right under my feet, and I look down and there's brown smeared all over, and it's all over the walls too, and the trail starts from the seat, and I'm wondering how anyone could've produced enough waste to even be able to do this, it was that bad. I went to go get the manager on duty, and he was cleaning it up as I was leaving.

Oh, and I think our new boss was supposed to show up that day, but never did, during my shift anyway, but I finally met her today. Looks like we have a few new changes (all small and unnoticeable like the format of assigned duties of the day) and there will probably be more to come. And today was interesting, because two of the big bosses came in, the ones that are the next step after the general manager, so we had two of those running around. They didn't yell at me, so that's good, and then after I clocked out, one of them personally told me I did a good job, so that's good to, I think.

And now I should go to sleep, have a day off with my dad for once, so we can go drive tomorrow and then make him take me to Borders so I cna finally pick up my dvds. Night for now.D

Hello everyone, just wanted to say been a little busy, working still, watching a couple of movies, oh and I graduated!:D I honestly didn't think it was going to be a big deal, and was slightly surprised, it would've been a complete surprise (because I can be slightly oblivious) if my mother hadn't asked me which font for my diploma I thought looked better (which in the end she chose anyway and didn't need my input at all;P), then we got to the park for our little pot luck, and some woman brought a cap and gown, while my mother brought the tassle she had made, and we grilled hot dogs, and six people handed me cards with money in it, while somebody just flat out gave me $20.

My mother and I were both surprised that people were handing me out money in these cards, it wasn't expected. And then my friends and I did the grilling, well actually one of them did the grilling, my other friend and I helped light the fire, and it was windy, so it kept going out and we had to re-light it, and brought a big brand new bottle of lighter fluid and now less than a quarter is left. It was fun, we sat on coolers and drank generic dr. pepper (dr. thunder), and waited for the charcoal to turn gray. After we all ate, I got in the robe, and walked down the pavilion to my mother while everybody hummed/sang hail to the chief or the actual graduation music, either way, it was really cool, and I got my diploma from my mother and then made a speech, on the spot.

A friend of mine made me a cake, and that's pretty much it, don't know how to really describe it, it was just plain cool, and will be sending thank you cards to people now. As for bosses, my main one, the general manager, is being relocated to a busier store, and tomorrow is supposed to be his last day with us. He'll be missed, he's a very cool guy with a good attitude. And then two of my managers are up for a promotion, and have interviews soon, so if they get promoted to general manager then they'll most likely be relocated since we'll have a general manager already. and the third one, I don't know, but that's 3 out of 4 people I've been working for that are going away, I know I've only been working for about a month and a half, but I'm going to really miss them all.

Anyway, I'm going to go watch one of the movies I rented, on a related note, Hairspray is one of the stupidest musicals I've ever seen, who in the world thought that John Travolta would play a convincing woman?

Eta: Was just listening to Stevie Nicks, which made me think about this really funny spoof that Lucy Lawless did for SNL once.

Stevie Nicks Fajita Roundup

Hi, I'm back and I saw a really interesting movie last night that caused odd dreams. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I don't know if there was a specific point to it because if I'm honest I don't usually get the concepts of things most of the time, usually goes over my head, but what I got from it was that revenge ends in tragedy, if there was anything else then I can't specifically spell it out. But it was odd, I don't know if I actually liked it or not, the whole thing about them cooking the murder victims into the pies was slightly disturbing, but I've read worse, and the blood squirting was a little pink. I don't really have anything else. As for the dreams I had last night, well I screamed at my mother to not eat Mrs. Lovett's meat pies, and then Mr. Todd offered to give me a 'shave' or spread jam over my toast, such a tough decision, jam or death (like cake or death;p), pretty sure I chose the jam but others chose the shave and died.

Anyway, have I mentioned how much Laurie Notaro makes me giggle? So I now have read all her books and awaiting her next one (The Flaming Tantrum) which comes out next month. If you haven't read any of her books, I highly recommend them, and this is the list, The Idiot Girls' Action-Adventure Club, Autobiography of a Fat Bride, I Love Everybody (and other atrocious lies), We Thought You Would Be Prettier, An Idiot Girl's Christmas, and her fictional novel, There's a (slight) Chance I might Be Going to Hell.

We had chess again and so I went to pick up my book that I ordered (The Hypochondriac's Pocket Guide to Horrible Diseases You Probably Already Have)and ordered Exes and Ohs Season One since they didn't have a copy in the store, hopefully that comes in soon, can't wait to get that. And then finally I get to go back to work tomorrow, so I'm going to have to go to sleep for now, night.

xXPeaceXx

First, since nobody seems to be interested in making a livejournal '100 most beautiful people' list kind of thing with me, I'll make it myself, but with 25 people, or however many I feel like. Don't know when, but sometime when I'm not working.

I've recently learned that I need to chill a little, I mean it can't be good if you're freaking out about dropping somebody's order of french fries and onion rings all over the floor (in the middle of the dinner rush within the the general manager's sight), yeah it'll set back a couple of orders and slow our rush down just a tad, but it's not the worst thing to happen. And it's not the worst thing to have missed a few questions on their quiz about drinks in general on specific amounts of syrup used for mixing milkshakes when you didn't personally know.

Needy dogs aren't that bad, to have two that want to go walk right after the dog before and then the dog outside is barking because it's hungry yet again even though you fed it about 5 times in the past 10 minutes, annoying but I couldn't imagine life without them. It's also not the worst thing if somebody makes up some dumb meme off the top of their head in an entry and you actually respond, yet they never reply to you which is actually the point of the stupid meme and you know it can't be because they're horribly busy since they've posted about ten times since.

The word 'runner' is not the most annoying word in the world even though you found the idea of strangling the guy yelling it at you slightly appealing because he could've been just a little more helpful about running the orders out instead of yelling at you to do it, when you were incapable to since you and the other girl assigned to the front were both taking orders of at least ten people on both registers and he was back there not really doing anything himself that somebody else didn't already have covered and demanding that someone else do something that he's perfectly capable of even if it wasn't his exact assignment but could clearly see that help was needed was really annoying and ticked me off. I guess I was a little angrier with him in general since he's also one of those jerks that like to throw 'gay' into a sentence as the definition of stupid and thinks I'm 14. But you know what, that's a step up from 12, and well some people are idiots and don't realize that you have to be at least 16 to legally work here, oh well. And well even if I was angry with this guy, I had to apologize for being a jerk to him, because even if he was jerk to me in the first place, I can't allow myself to keep the cycle of anger going, because it's pointless, it's just more negativity in a world that seems to have enough already. Now we're okay, he actually apologized too, and so I actually got a chance to express that I felt this way because of blank, and it felt great.

I guess the point of this entry is to get a good deal of my frustrations out and be 'Zen' with it, it's not the end of the world, no use crying over spilled milk or in my case, french fries.:D

xXPeaceXx

Hello, I know I've been missing for over a week from livejournal, and my excuse is that I got pretty busy. I'm still working and loving it, and finding people who like to put 'extra, extra, extra, extra' blank on their burger hilarious, I got to work drive-thru the other day and had somebody with 'extra, extra, extra, extra onions' and well to be honest it was hard to read it back without laughing, because the woman who took the order and the woman who cooked it were laughing in my ear, since all three of us were wearing headsets. After she drove off we were joking about putting mints on a burger, and how it would give it an extra zing and I was joking how next time I came though the drive-thru I'd ask for a burger with extra extra extra extra onions and crushed mints, only if it's that woman who was taking the orders, it would be hilarious.

Anyway, a few interesting things that happened, we had chess last week, and before we went to Borders, we stopped by a Target for I don't know, but I went and got my mom's Mother's Day present (Season One of Bones, which she apparently hadn't seen yet since she got into Bones in the most recent season) and this silly card that says 'Mom, I can't imagine what LIFE would be like without you.' (front)'I'd probably be eating candy I got from a stranger, talking with my mouth full, and waving sharp objects around, while I sit too close to the tv, in yesterday's underwear. Thanks, and Happy Mother's Day!' (inside), of course I personalized, and then I grabbed a People magazine. It was the 100 Most Beautiful issue, which I'll go more into, in a bit. After we got out of the store, we realized that our green suitcase of chess sets were missing and so I had to run back in and buy four of the cheapest chess sets they had in the store, which they don't sell just chess sets by themselves, they have to be a double board for checkers and backgammon too, because you know, what sane person would want just a plain chess set? So, because of the 3 in 1 sets it would cost extra coming to about $4 for their cheapest chess set, which personally I would've been fine with the $1.50-$2 set that I've seen before, but no they had to add to less superior games to it and make it cost more for the 'cheapest'.

Alright, after I got four of the triple sets, we were pretty much freaking out about where *I* would've left our chess-suitcase, because I decided to share the wonders of chess with our park kids, and I could've left it in a park, but then I don't remember not putting it back in the trunk, but then again this is the girl who's forgotten that she's left the hammer in the entertainment stand and her mom's sewing tape measure on the dvd shelf somewhere. I also came up with the possibility that I left it in our Borders, but that would be silly, but I asked anyway, twice. I asked the girl in the front (who I don't think has been working there that long)and she said that that would be too big for their drawer that they have for lost and found items, therefore they don't have it. My favorite bookwoman was working that day, so I asked her and she said that they did indeed have it and she thought of me when they found out what was in it, and she went to get it for me and then checked me out, my book that is. And now I have another Laurie Notaro book (We Thought You Would Be Prettier: True Tales of the Dorkiest Girl Alive) to giggle at.

Oh and speaking of Laurie Notaro, she's going to be in Austin, Texas for a book reading and signing, as part of her book tour, in July, and I'm hoping to go, it's about and hour to an hour and a half away, so not that far of a drive. Have I mentioned how awesome she is, and how much she makes me giggle? I actually giggle out loud while reading her books which sometimes prompts my mother from down the hall to ask me what's so funny, and then me giggling an explanation about Laurie writing about being in a grocery store or something about her mother, hopefully I'll meet her someday if not this year, maybe her next book tour.:D

Then there are the kitties who still don't like the dogs, but have walked up to my bigger dog and stare at her, but they still hiss if the dogs are too close. Yang who's the smaller and lighter one loves to run speed from my room to my mother's room back and forth, and hide in places like a bathroom linen closet or behind a big pile of folded laundry, and in the bookshelves. The bathroom linen closet incident was funny, I was getting dressed and suddenly this thing fell out of it, it was just Yang. He knocked over something the other day in my mother's bathroom and I went to investigate, then he jumped over a stack of folded clothes and hid behind them. I was on the other side popped up and went 'peek-a-boo!' and he literally jumped about a foot in the air and then went to hide under the bed. He also doesn't really like eating shrimp, so far, I gave him and Yin a small shrimp from my Jambalaya, and Yang just played with it, kept putting it in his mouth and spitting it back out and swatting at it, Yin on the other hand slowly chewed on his and ate it, and it probably barely touched the dog's tounge before it was down her throat.

And then I've been watching a few movies, which I'll talk about in another post, because I have a few, and I've been watching Tila Tequila again (woops :P), and my friend is asking me why I'm watching it, uh, because it's really bad of course, and I'm all caught up on The L Word, 3Way, Stargate Atlantis, 30 Rock, Women's Murder Club, and Law and Order SVU. (actually I'm not quite caught up on the last three, but close enough) But it makes me laugh so much, because it's like the combination of everything bad about reality tv, over dramatic people, stupid competitions, eating disgusting things, making out with everyone, and alcohol of course. Of course Tila is very vain, making people do stupid things and you know what the prize is, more time with her, oh my gosh. It's just bad, but oh so addictive, I wish they were doing recaps on Afterellen for this season because it was so hilarious.

Now I get to the People 100 Most Beautiful issue. I don't remember the last time I bought a People magazine, I think I was last subscribed when Sandra Bullock was still single, and the reason I remember this is because I took a few pictures out of the magazines (after I was done reading them)then and used them for my wall, door, a scrapbook, ect., and I still have one of her with Lance Armstong and Robin Williams on my door. Anyway, last time I remembered their 'Most Beautiful' list was only 50 people, okay, so they doubled it, that's cool. Well when I started skimming through it, I was getting really annoyed, because it didn't look like they put much effort into it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they used to devote about a page or half a page with an actual paragraph of how blank is 'beautiful'? I've been skimming through this and alot of them just have crappy quotes of how the person in question makes themselves look externally 'beautiful', just a bunch of quotes, which is lazy writing because the writers aren't actually writing, they're just quoting, and then there's a page with 12 people with just pictures of the tattoos on their napes, a page with 9 people who had a song written about them, and a two page chart of people ranging from 20-59 with a different celebrity for every number. Other than that, their special is seriously lacking in content it's just a bunch of pretty pictures with a few quotes slapped on.

And don't get me started on the list, alright fine the list isn't that bad, but some of them are silly, the Simpson sisters? Matthew McConaughey? And then there are a bunch of people that I've never heard of but that's okay, I do agree with Nicole Kidman, Mariska Hargitay, Tina Fey, Angie Harmon, Brad Pitt, and George Clooney. I do think that Michelle Paradise and Cathy DeBuono should've been on this list because they are truly beautiful people inside and out, but they're probably not mainstream enough. Oh and did I mention that George Clooney is one of the prettiest men ever, I actually have a friend online who jokes that she'd be afraid to meet him because he'd turn her straight, lol. But he is really really pretty and it was good that he made the list, though I think he deserved more than a few short quotes, they should've given him a full page to himself at least, not fair that he has to share a page with two other people while Jessica Simpson gets one to herself and Miley Cyrus gets two pages, he George freaking Clooney 'People'!

You know, I just had an interesting idea, maybe anybody reading this, we could make our own '100 Most Beautiful', if you're so inclined to, name about 5-20 people in a comment and write about what makes them 'beautiful', not just externally, but internally, and then I could make a few posts with pictures and yall's writing, what do you think? Anyone?

Alright so since I was working a lot this week, my dad went on and watched AVP: Requiem, without me, so I now have to watch that later. I got to rent a couple movies from Blockbuster online since we had a free rental and my mom let me choose it and then I guess she didn't want to deal with me thinking hard from choosing one of the two I narrowed it down to and just got them both, so now I have 'Being Julia' (with Annette Benning) and 'Y tu mamá también' (And Your Mother Too)coming. The second one I was looking at because while I was browsing through their '1001 movies you have to see' section, I saw that and thought the title looked familiar, and it was a Maribel Verdú (Torri Higginson's Spanish look alike) movie that I was looking at, and it sounded interesting, she's supposed to play a married woman who runs away with two teen boys and seduces them on a road trip in Mexico (a summary of this summary) Anyway, I swear I tried to explain to my mother what we were renting, lol, but I really didn't get to with her clicking to rent.:P

Oh, speaking of Torri Higginson, velvet_midnight made this entry with a link to a really good LJ entry that was a huge Torri picspam, and there were embedded vids, see the Torri awesomeness here. And now I get to the most important part of this post, after watching all those vids, I have the sudden urge to read SWAMA (Shep/Weir And McKay Angst), Shep/Weir/McKay love triangle, and Shep/Weir fluff. So for any of my Sparky (or fellow Mcweirites who might be Shweirian closet cases) flisters out there, do any of yall have any recs in either of the categories I'm asking for? You can pretty much scratch the first two too, I just want Sparky Fluff, anyone?:D

I'm still liking my job, though it's not glamorous or anything, I like it. I'm being paid to keep a good fast food place, that's already clean, clean. And to make sure people have the right orders, honestly it's kind of fun. My mom thinks it's odd that I don't hate my job yet, but I don't really have any reason to hate it overall, I have a few aspects about it I dislike however.

I hate it when people throw away their drink cups that still have liquid in it, many obviously think nothing of it, but being the person who's taken out some of the garbage, it's annoying because it leaks everywhere, and I have to of course walk all the way to the very back to get the mop and clean it up. I also hate it when people just leave their garbage on top of the table, it's rude, though I don't mind walking around asking if I can take their tray for them (when it's possible, as in I'm not actively cleaning something else or doing something else I've been asked to do) it's annoying that people would just leave it there expecting someone to clean up after them completely. I know it's only fast food, but people are coming out to get something they don't have to cook themselves, or have to do any dishes, I don't think it's horrible for them to dump their trays if they're eating in, on their way out the door. I do offer to take them when I can because our general manager is huge on customer satisfaction. Half the time I offer they decline it, but thank me for the gesture, which is nice, but I don't like those that just leave, and worse they'll leave a big mess too like french fries in the seat and ketchup on the floor.

I also dislike people who yell at you for screwing up their order at the end of the drive thru when all you're doing is reading the final receipt. (Which would be the reason why we're supposed to read the receipt back to make sure we got what they ordered right), a good example would be this woman who had a really difficult burger to begin with, cheese, jalapenos, extra onions, no pickles, and bacon. (and that was her changes to our main burger which is mustard, lettuce, pickles, onions, and tomatoes) Well somewhere in 'the bubble' (what our drive thru thing is called when we have the cashier at one window and then someone else who hands out the food and drinks at a second window)extra onions and no pickles turned into no onions and extra pickles, which is what I read off, and the woman yelled at me for getting it wrong, and I told her that I would get it fixed no problem, it took 10-20 seconds tops to fix it (very easy to remove pickles and add onions), no problem, I understand being annoyed, but her acting as though it was impossible to fix and giving me attitude with 'What do I get for my troubles!?' really ticked me off, and if it was up to me she wouldn't have gotten the two little apple pies my manager at the time gave her, maybe a little cookie or something just in case she was a secret shopper so she wouldn't complain we didn't care at all.

Oh and speaking of secret shoppers, this trainee got reviewed by one, yikes. The report about how we dealt with this customer through the drive thru was bad by our standards, they said that the cashier made no eye contact and was just doing her job, and then they said I was friendlier but made no eye contact or said 'thank you' which apparently you're expected to do. I had no idea, but what I don't get is how could I be friendly without making 'eye contact', I mean when I talk to someone I look at them, (I'm actually not sure if I always look in their eyes...my mother says it's a very me thing to not make eye contact, so maybe I did it without realizing it) and there was a mark about not reading back the receipt, which wasn't all that bad because they've told me I don't have to do it if I don't know it yet. (it's secret fast food code;p) My main manager just told me to focus on making eye contact and saying thank you to everyone, and I'm fine.

Another thing that I find slightly annoying is the whole 'take back tray timer' thing, it's so stupid, the main manager expects someone at the front to come out every 15 minutes and walk up to everyone in the dining room with our orange tray of ketchup, salt&pepper, orange peppermints, napkins, sugar and sweetener, and say and I quote "My name is blank, would you like some blank?". What I find stupid about it is that people will be in the middle of eating something when I'm supposed to recite this, I've had some laugh and ask if I'm new, but this is only when I'm working in the front and the main manager is watching when I have to do this or look like I'm reciting it, lol.

What I love about being the newbie, is that the people I'm working with love to talk and talk and tell me everything about the station we're working in, and then I just hear things in general, for example I know who like and dislike our main manager, I know someone who dislikes bugs (lol, okay it's kind of funny, I was just mopping and there was this cricket that was trapped under the mat, and since I'm used to handling crickets in general because I feed Keanu my lizard, I just picked it up so that nobody would squash it or screech, and apparently that freaked out one of the women I'm working with that was just sitting down from a break, I just explained my lizard and that I was moving this outside, she just thought it was weird that I touched it with my bare hand, [for my mom, she's cool with me by the way, one of the people giving me tips on things to avoid to stay out of trouble in general, and very nice], oh well:)), I know who some people dislike, and that kind of stuff. Of course I'd never say anything or hold it against them, but I just think it's interesting how much they tell me.

I also like the managers, they've been very nice and aren't as intimidating as I'd imagine managers to be, but I do respect them and listen. Just learning what is okay around which managers, just by watching everyone else, for example we have a couple who are just funny and you can feel very relaxed and it's okay to kid around, and things get done, and then there's our general manager who's a great guy but when he's around, he's very serious and things are just quieter, lol. Our store also trains managers in our area, so there are about 2-3 managers running around at almost any given time. I've actually asked a couple of times because I get introduced to everyone if they're staying with our store or if they're temporary, because there are so many and the trainees are with us for different periods of times, the one that I was training with in my first couple of days left last week and she had been at the store for 6 weeks, and the one I met just last week is with us for 4 weeks, and then I met one of our own managers over a week after I started so I don't yet know everybody that works in the store.

The one I just met that's ours, well so far he doesn't seem to like me very much, our first meeting was me asking a question about the tea (which I don't remember now) but he wasn't happy that I used two tea bags instead of one, which I didn't know because the person who taught me to make tea told me to use two. And then I saw his facial expressions while reading the secret shopper report I was involved in that was on the bulletin board, he was not happy, what at exactly I'm not sure. I know that on my way out (having been about 45 minutes over my scheduled time because the drive thru was crazy) I asked if it was okay to go home and he strictly told me to make sure that my station was stocked up, which I had, but I guess it was weird because all the other managers I had dealt with before were nice about it, even the general one that a lot of people are very intimidated by, maybe this one might just be strict in general and since he usually works the night shifts doesn't realize I'm very new. I don't know I'll figure it out, just be good and give him no reason to dislike me.:)

Alright I think I'm finally going to shut up with this entry because it's just long, but I'll be back in a bit with other things, and just a heads up, I read my flist almost daily, but haven't had time to comment recently so if anybody suddenly sees a comment to something older than 2 days, that's why.:D

P.S. After all the standing and running around at work I hate the way my feet feel, even with my shoes that are supposed to be good for my feet, my toes ache quite a bit.

As I said in my previous entry I'd steal the pictures my mom took that week, so here they are, all under a cut because they're big, oh and Siamese cats have blue not red eyes by the way:D

This is Yin and Yang respectively (I think, my mom is the one who took the pictures, but I'm pretty sure that the one on the left is Yin and the one on the right is Yang) looking down for some reason.

Here they are again probably at the same time, so the one standing up would be Yin, so adorable staring at the camera.

Same thing but not really staring at the camera.

Here's just Yang, so far he meows at me more, but he's so cute.

I think this is Yang, but I can't really tell from his position, I just know that I've only seen Yang stretched out on the treadmill and Yin prefers laying on the bed or in the sink.

Probably Yang again.

And finally a Yin picture, here he is, not in the sink but on the bathroom floor. So far Yin purrs at me more.

And that's all I've got for now, I would've added to picture of my yellow lab just sitting there staring at them, but I took that one after my mom put these on her computer and I haven't gotten it off the camera yet.

My week went by fast, been working, and I just got my first paycheck yesterday which was pretty exciting. It's also nice to know that I'm working over minimum wage. I'm not going to spend it on anything right now, have save my savings account first. My next check is going to be relatively smaller since I missed a scheduled day (which shouldn't have been scheduled in the first place since I had specified on my application that I couldn't work that time) and so I didn't get a new day and missed out on at least four hours, so I only have 10 1/2 hours on my next check. The one after that will look amazing compared since I'm scheduled for 22 hours this week, and they gave me an apron today which my mom is saying I'm official now, lol. I get to run around with ketchup, salt & pepper, and napkins in the pockets. Oh yeah and almost forgot, finally being trained for the register, now I need to learn how to cook.:)

Well, looks like I came back a little later than I thought I would so first up, uh I'm still loving my job. The other day while waiting for somebody's order in the drive thru is was one of their birthdays and they jokingly asked if I'd sing Happy Birthday, which I went on and did, and well it seemed to make them happy, took them by surprise but I think they were sincerely happy with it. And it wasn't hurting anything since I had everything else I needed to do done, and just waiting on their order specifically. I know my boss wouldn't have minded, he's really huge on happy customers and stuff. And then something I find amusing about having my job is that I have a couple friends saying that they're going to mess with me at work, one of them I can take seriously because he's just like that in general, but his threatened methods of messing with me are so silly. He says that when I'm on register, he'll pay in pennies, and then since I've been talking about how I run around handing salt and ketchup out to people who ask in the dining area, he'll ask for a little bit of ketchup and then make me run back to get more, and then again to get more salt, which this method can't work by the way, because I walk around with a big orange tray that has lots of ketchup and salt on it, and even orange colored peppermints.:D

Anyway, remember Cathy DeBuono, who's that actress/therapist/athlete that I'm totally NOT crazy about, I left her a comment about her vlog on her blog about her vlog, and she messaged me to thank me for it, and basically asked if I would comment on the vlog itself, pretty much since I watch it already no problem. It was just so cool, and then I messaged back about how her messaging me had made my day and she's just awesome, and then she messaged back basically how that meant a lot, and it's just one of those silly positive things that happened this week.:)

Let's see what else, oh it's my sister's birthday, so we had a birthday party yesterday, complete with the pinata that wouldn't break and salty store cake, it rocked! Seriously though, it was great, honestly I don't know what was up with the cake or if it was me who's coming back from being sick, but the cake tasted like they put in a little bit more than just a dash of salt, but it was okay. The pinata, everybody had hit it, but it was too strong and my mother had to actually take it down and rip it open, which would've been just great if this kid hadn't walked up to start taking candy out of it, causing a chain reaction of about twenty kids nearly trampling my mom for the candy. It was crazy.

Other than the party, oh yeah, WE HAVE KITTIES! We got two eight month old Siamese kittens. And they're the most adorable things. This is their third night with us. There was lots of thinking about them like my mom was thinking about getting one and there was a boy and girl so she would get the girl since male cats spray to mark their territory and all that. Well, after about three times of going to the store to see them she and my dad came home with both of them. The funny thing is when we were getting them out of the cardboard carrier, their back ends were pointed at me and it's like 'now which one is the girl?', lol, we found out that both of them are boys. You'd think that the people in the pet store would be able to tell the difference between a male and female cat, even if they are fixed instead of labeling a male cat (with male evidence) 'female'.

Anyway, our kittens are so funny, oh we've named them Yin and Yang, Yin is our bigger darker one, and Yang is the thinner lighter one, and they like sinks. So far they've been lying around in my mom's bathroom sink, and then Yang who's the more outgoing one has actually come out of my parent's bedroom to go sit in the main bathroom sink, because Yin already took up the other one. And he loves the bathtub too. We're working on getting them used to the inside dogs, who are a little too excited for them. And so right now we have a little house fence (you know the ones you put up to keep toddlers and infants out of hallways and all that) up to keep the little doggie from running at them. She's just been a little too aggressive, and so we have a small fence to keep her from them or they'll whack and hiss at her which she's clearly not understanding because she continues to pursue them after this, stupid dog, hence the fence. What's hilarious is Yang has actually laid in the doorway of my parents room with his feet sticking out, just to annoy the little dog, and the reason we know this is because he actually poked his head out to stare at her and then just continue sticking his feet out.

I'll have to steal my mom's pictures of the cats that she took yesterday, and then put them here, but I'll do that later, right now I should go to sleep, because though the kittens are adorable, having them is exhausting because it means we have an annoying little doggie who's a little over excited and keeping us awake, so night for now.

Alright well man do I have quite a bit to say and just in a good mood in general, but I'll be back with that later, I found this meme, and I just had to do it, it was sooo much fun.

Snagged from vickysg1 and johnliz4ever

6 ships you like. number them from 1 to 6.

1. McKay/Weir (Stargate Atlantis)
2. Carter/Keller (Stargate Atlantis)
3. Weir/Cadman (Stargate Atlantis)
4. Alex/Oliva (Law and Order SVU)
5. Xena/Gabrielle (Xena)
6. Weir/Sheppard (Stargate Atlantis)[*gasp* ;D]

- 3 ships that you used to like, but not anymore. number them from 7 to 9.

7. John/Teyla (Stargate Atlantis)
8. Weir/Teyla (Stargate Atlantis)
9.Weir/Zelanka (Stargate Atlantis)

- 3 ships that you can't stand. number them from 10 to 12.

10. Ronon/Keller (Stargate Atlantis)
11. Janet/Sam (SG1)
12. McKay/Keller (Stargate Atlantis)

- 2 ships that you're curious about, but don't quite ship. number them from 13 to 14.
13. John/Rodney (Stargate Atlantis)
14. John/Ronon (Stargate Atlantis)

1.why don't you like 11?
Janet/Sam. Because they just don't fit romantically, I mena it's cool they're friends and all that but they don't have *that* chemistry I believe.

2. do you know anybody who ships 13?
John/Rodney. Oh yeah, think a good quarter of my flist does, and have to say they're cute, it's just not one of my main ships.

3. what would be your ideal circumstances for couple 3?
Weir/Cadman. Hmmm, maybe if Elizabeth went offworld and Laura was part of the team escorting her, and they just bonded and all that.:) (*loves the fanfiction world*)

4. what's your favorite episode of 1?
McKay/Weir. That's kind of hard since there are quite a few episodes with goodies in it, but I'm going to go with either The Storm or The Eye, which were like some of my favorites of the show all around.

5. since when do you ship couple 6?
Weir/Sheppard. (bringing shame to mcweirism...) Well, I've kind of always had a thing for them since the very beginning, admittedly not as strong as my main ship, but I've always liked them to some degree.

6. why did you stop shipping couple 8?
Weir/Teyla. Don't know, they just don't go well, maybe it's because Cadman came into the picture and Weir has a new woman in her life.;P

7. you have the power so that one couple doesn't exist. pick either 10 or 12.
Ronon/Keller or McKay/Keller. Oooo, this is a toughie because neither of them work properly or have any chemistry, but I'll go with Ronon/Keller since there's absolutely nothing there, at least McKay/Keller has brains.

8. what do you prefer, 2 or 4?
Carter/Keller or Alex/Olivia. Another toughie, very evil to make me choose between these two, I'm going to say Alex/Olivia since there's more material with them right now, and Carter/Keller is kind of new in general, but I love it so much.

9. what interests you about 14?
John/Ronon. I don't know they're two very pretty men, and they're so funny together, maybe I could write a John/Rodney/Ronon love triangle. *shrug*

10. when did you stop liking 7?
John/Teyla. Hmm, don't know I found other ships, and John was off kirking and they just felt too sibling like for me, I think I only liked it because of the first episode and how well it was written in some mcweir fics I've read.

11. when you lost interest for 9, did you lose interest in the series?
Weir/Zelanka. Nah, to be honest it was just one of my secondary ships that I thought was kind of cute.

12. a song that reminds you of 5.
Xena/Gabrielle. It's All Coming Back To Me Now by Celine Dion. I actually have a good reason for why this song makes me think about them, I saw like a really good fanvid of it, and so everytime I hear the song I now think about Xena and Gabrielle, unfortunately I can't find the vid right now, but it was amazing and how anyone isn't a Xena/Gabrielle shipper after that, it was that good.

13. which ship do you like the most?
Oooo, this is so hard, I'm kind of Stuck between McKay/Weir (like one of my first and still love it) and Xena/Gabrielle, I can't really choose, they're both so amazing for different reasons.

14. which one do you like the least?
Ronon/Keller, ewwww.

15. if you could make two of these couples have a double date, which one would you choose?
Hmm I think I'd like McKay/Weir and Carter/Keller.

16. has the second couple kissed yet? make it up if you'd like.
Carter/Keller. Pfft, I wish, maybe they're kissing behind the scenes, you never know...;D

17. did 4 have a happy ending? if the series isn't over, do you think it'll end well?
Alex/Olivia. Well, since Stephanie March doesn't seem to be coming back to play Alex Cabot on SVU, I doubt it, but that's what fanfiction is for!

18. what would make you start shipping 13?
John/Rodney. Honestly I kind of already do, they're just a secondary ship for me, so I just put them there because I'm not really curious about any others.

19. if only one could happen, which one would you choose, 2 or 6?
Carter/Keller or Sheppard/Weir. Well since the idiots in charge of Atlantis killer off my wonderful Weir basically, I'm going with Carter/Keller, but honestly, either is fine.

20. you have the power to choose the fate of 12. what would happen to them?
McKay/Keller. They didn't happen at all, how about that, it violates two of my favorite ships, so there.:D

Edit: Omgosh I found that Xena vid!

I've done everything I'm supposed to, even do like extra things like clean without being asked to and it's just great. I actually have a good excuse to like smile at gorgeous (straight) women without them being weirded out because it's like my job, 'how are you today?', 'hi ladies!', 'can I get that for you?', and so on. And pretty women show up.:D

Anyway, seriously, I love keeping everything clean, running out the orders to everyone, and just helping in general, and I think they like me, no complaints so far, worst thing I did was run out a couple orders before the fries were added to the tray, drive thru is a different story, I'm only responsible for getting the drinks right and handing the right bags out. The hours are strange right now, like I've been sent home early a couple times and then they kept me an hour later than scheduled, which my friend Kate was telling me that in training it's normal because they want to see if you can handle it, or something like that.

Let's see, about those dreams, I'm still NOT crazy about Cathy DeBuono and dreaming about running a tattoo parlor/yardwork place with her, oh and then there was a point where I was dreading a dinner out with my grandparents and cousins, and then there were people putting rainbow colored lizards down other people's pants, and one actually jumped on me and crawled on me, and I literally jumped awake. But I got back to sleep after that, and then there was a woman in black lingerie trapped in a book, and then there was the characters of Stargate Atlantis playing the parts of characters in Rent, I only remember Weir as Maureen and Sheppard as Mark, and he was rollerblading too. I don't remember what order these events happened, but there you go another really random dream of mine, now I should go to sleep and see what else comes up, see yall!:D

Great news and a couple memes floating around

Alright so a pretty positive update, let's see we're still True Colors bound, current lineup for the concert we're attending has, Cyndi Lauper, The B-52s (<--everyone is getting these two), Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, Andy Bell of Erasure, Wanda Sykes, Lili Haydn, and Carson Kressley. I'm hoping Rosie gets added to ours too, I know that last year she got added to extra dates at like the last minute, so crossing my fingers here.

Let's see what else, oh, some crazy person out there reviewed one of my fanfics and told me it was great, but short and asked if I was continuing. And well I honestly don't know, I re-read it and thought maybe it could do with a little more, but we'll see, I promised to get back to them if I was actually continuing. I start training for my new job tomorrow, my best friend's mom is pregnant (which is really exciting), and Nyquil induced dreams are interesting. Anything that causes you to cuddle with Cathy Debuono and set Chuckie the doll on fire in the same dream, is really interesting. Now I have memes that I've snagged from my flist, have the icon one which missyvortexdv did for me:

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick four of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee!!

Stargate Atlantis/Airbourne-Daydreaming:

Well I kind of snagged this from johnliz4ever, don't remember if I actually told her I was using it, but I did make sure to credit it in the credit, and well it just makes me giggle because it's basically Sheppard and McKay snarking at each other, and then there's Torri's abs from Airbourne, very cool gif all around.:D

Wicked-Popular:

I think I was just looking for an icon of Galinda and Elphaba from the musical, this was them during 'Popular' which is one of my favorite scenes, and it's just pretty.

Idina Menzel-I said moo with me! not AT:

Just looking for Idina Menzel, and found this which is from 'Over the Moon' from Rent, and I just thought it was funny with the look and everything.

Alex Cabot has it all:

Well I was just thowing gifs together and was thinking about Alex Cabot from SVU for some reason, and why I like her so much, it's because she was blonde, has blue eyes, and wears glasses, those three things are attractive separately (Kristin Chenoweth[blonde],Agent Scully[blue eyes], and Tina Fey[glasses]) but Alex Cabot has them all.;D

Wow listening to me ramble about icons is so much fun.

And then there's that name meme:

1. my username is________ because ________

weirfan because I originally came up with it on a Stargate fan forum, and it simply means I'm a Dr. Weir fan, and well it just kind of stuck, and everyone I knew on livejournal when I began was in the Stargate fandom, so they got it.

2. my name is ________ because _______.

Debra because my mom named me that.;P

3. my journal is titled ______ because __________.

'Weirfan's journal' because I coudln't think of anything cooler at the time.

4. my friends page is called ______ because ___________.

Earthlings because I wanted something different than 'friends', and I imagine my friends are from Earth.;D

5. my default userpic is _______ because _________.

Xena and Gabrielle because they're pretty and I haven't thought about anything better to be my default in case I'm too lazy to put in a cool icon for a post/comment.

Okay, well that's it for now, I'll have to catch up on my flist completely later, have to go hop into the shower now, and sleep, because I get to train tomorrow, really excited, so night everyone!

I'm going to the True Colors Concert! Don't know when we're getting our tickets or the full ride details, but it's going to be so much fun, going with my best friend and his family, and then my mom and a friend of ours is coming along too, and maybe my older sister if she's down here to visit us at the time, it's going to be awesome! And what's cool about having my mom there is she's kind of the crazy person who buys junk at the gift shop at places, lol, oh man it was so funny when she came to one of my Odyssey of the Mind State competitions, bought like half the different pins they were selling, love her so much. But seriously it'll be fun to have my mom with us, it's an awesome concert and I really hope Rosie O'Donnell shows up at the one we're going to, because I thought it sucked that my mom missed her last year and I know how big of a fan she is.

And then, I might have a job, the words 'we're going to give you an opportunity' and then telling me to come in at a certain time, kind of gives me that idea, I'm so excited.

Last, I'm totally NOT crazy about Cathy DeBuono, that gorgeous actress/theapist/volleyball player, who has a really neat vlog, and she was in the first episode of Exes and Ohs, and then she was in a recent episode of 3Way as a therapist with her own issues, hilarious. Yep, I totally don't have a thing for her, which is why I DIDN'T make this gif:

Anyway, have to go to sleep, there's chess, maybe a job, and Sims, which I'm loving right now, so night!

A couple memes, funny web series, and the Sims

I'd first like to start this entry thanking everyone who commented on my last, some rant about me coming out to my father, it was really appreciated and it helped, thank you for all the kind words. And so since I posted something a little depressing, thought I would balance it out with a fun entry, so first up is this meme that fififolle kind of started, it would be cool to see it take off, here's me trying to meme-fy it:

The Username Images Meme

1.Enter your username into a google image search.
2. Choose 3 of your favorites, and repost them on your blog.
3.Repost this so others can do it and see what people on your flist get when they search their name.:D

Kitties! (Have no idea what breed they are, but they're pretty!)

One of mystic_meg_gal's banners that are on her profile page.

Ooooo, that Stargate Atlantis banner from Passion and Perfection, probably showed up because it was on the same page as my Weir/Cadman ficlet.

And then here's the meme that seems to have taken my flist by storm, it's the one about what you call things based on where you live:

WHERE I COME FROM:
Texas

WHAT DO YOU CALL:
1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks? a creek
2. What the thing you push around the grocery store is called? shopping cart
3. A metal container to carry a meal in? well I would say thermos since they carry soup which is technically a meal, but it's lunchboxes, though they're not really metal anymore, mostly plastic
4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in? frying pan
5. The piece of furniture that seats three people? sofa, couch
6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof? gutter and drain pipe
7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening? patio, porch
8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages? soda
9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup? pancake
10. A long sandwich designed to be a whole meal in itself? a sub (one of the best things ever)
11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach? trunks
12. Shoes worn for sports? sneakers, tennis shoes
13. Putting a room in order? cleaning up
14. A flying insect that glows in the dark? firefly
15. The little insect that curls up into a ball? *wonders if the original author was referring to the bug known as a woodlouse* If so, well first we call it a rollie-pollie, and technically it's not an insect since it actually has 14 legs and insects only have 6, and it doesn't have the three distinct insect body parts (head, thorax, and abdomen, but I can't think of what the author might've actually meant, and everybody is saying pill bug, woodlouse, rollie-pollie, and so on.
16. The children's playground equipment where one kid sits on one side and goes up while the other sits on the other side and goes down? a see-saw
17. How do you eat your pizza? y hand:D
18. What's it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their used stuff? garage sale, yard sale
19. What's the evening meal? Dinner, Supper
20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are? a basement
21. What do you call the thing that you can get water out of to drink in public places? water fountain, drinking fountain

Let's see, real content, well my arms and abdomen ache a little because I went to an indoor amusement place for a birthday party, and one of their major things was this trampoline with bungee cords, so that you could jump really really high without falling off. I went on that a couple of times and since you have this harness so that you can't fall off, I flipped and flipped (backwards of course) and it was so much fun except when I went really high which by the way is scary if you're flipping, and that's why I have slight muscular aches. Other than that been reinstalling the original Sims on the old desktop (oddly I've never played before)and been watching silly web series like Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series (hilarious spoof series of Yu-Gi-Oh) and 3Way, and still trying to get a job. Now have to kick the siblings off the desktop so I can go install more expansions for The Sims, so bye for now.

The Fly, anime, and Bob the message eater

Alright so here I am with an actual update, as far as updates go for me. I believe the entry before last I mentioned that I was going to go watch The Fly, which is like this really cool sci-fi/horror movie with Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum, and there's like this teleporter machine and Jeff Goldblum like evolves into this human fly hybrid, and it's gross and cool, and Geena Davis is great. Oh and speaking of Geena Davis, I was channel surfing and found her on Stuart Little, with Hugh Laurie who I forgot was in that movie because man was he so into that character I wasn't thinking like 'omgosh, hugh laurie', and Geena Davis was really good in her character too, but I just like her.:D

Let's see what else have I been watching recently, oh yeah finished off The L Word season, it was really interesting, and well can't wait for the Lizzy the Lezzy recap, those are soo funny. Oh and threw together this icon:

Then I found all of Sailor Moon since I was looking for it for someone else who'd never seen it and asked about it since it came up in a conversation, and I was noticing some things about the difference in attitude between original Japanese anime and Dubbed English anime. I mean in the Japanese version the characters are generally nicer to each other, maybe here and there they might have a couple lines of snipping at each other, but nothing that rude, and they're just all around more likable in my opinion, but in the Dub, they love to make the characters sarcastic like all the time and constantly fight, and it's just interesting to see how much the dub reflects the general American attitude unfortunately.

And last since I should go to sleep, I'd like to inrtoduce this silly cartooned character I made:

So this is Bob the message eater, he lives in the youtube fight homophobia stream, and he's our 'bug' that eats our messages sometimes and makes us lag, seems to get really hungry when lots of people are in, it's actually kind of funny, so yeah this is what you do when you're bored, make silly cartoons of an internet bug.:D

Alright so I should probably go to sleep now, night all.:)

Well thought since I found my first Stargate meme, I'd go through it, so much fun, will have to put up a real entry later, just not now, so tired.

1. Who is your favorite SG-1 character?
Jack O'Neill

2. Who is your favorite Atlantis character?
Elizabeth Weir (duh!;D)

3. What is your favorite SG-1 episode?
That's kind of hard, but Upgrades would be my favorite followed by a three way tie of Threads, Window of Oppurtunity, and Point of View

4. Who is your favorite villain? (in SG-1)
Osiris (she was so hot)

5. Who is your favorite villain? (in Atlantis)
Love the Replicators, they're so cool

6. P-90 or Zat?
Zat, it's capable of just stunning and so don't have ot worry about killing on a first shot.

7. You'll be...Jaffa or Tok'ra?
Tok'ra, so awesome and have the deep voice thing going.

8. Goa'uld mothership or X-303?
X-303

9. Ori or Ancient?
The Ancients of course!

10. Who is the best O'Neill: Kurt Russell or Richard Dean Anderson?
Well since Richard Dean Anderson had the role for like 10 years, I'm going to say him, because that's the Jack O'Neill I love

11. The best Daniel Jackson...James Spader or Michael Shanks?
I'm going to say Michale Shanks since that's the Daniel I love, but Spader was okay, just didn't get used to him as Daniel since he only had the movie.

12. Asgard or Replicator?
Asgard

13. Who is the best leader of Atlantis, Weir or Carter?
Elizabeth Weir of course! :D

14. Who is best leader of the SGC...Hammond, O'Neill, Weir or Landry?
Hmmm, I'm gonna say Hammond, and then Weir follows close by

15. Jonas Quinn or Vala Mal Doran?
Gah that's hard, I can't choose from those two because Jonas was so adorable, and then Vala is hot and funny, so can't choose.

16. Col. Mitchell or Dr. Fraiser?
No competition there, Mitchell has got to be my least favortie SG1 character, so Janet all the way, I miss her.

17. Who would you kill first...Apophis, Ba'al, Cronos, Hathor, Yu or Anubis?
Hmm Anubis, get the worst out of the way first. :D

18. Keller or Beckett?
I'm going to say Keller (*gasp*) but only by a little bit, I love them both so much.:D

19. In a 1 on 1 fight, who would win...Teal'c or Ronon?
Hmm, that's tough one, but I think Ronon by a little bit because he seems like he's in his prime and Teal'c might be past his prime by now.

20. What is your favourite Atlantis episode?
Omgosh, 38 Minutes, loved like everything about it, there was all this mcweirness and shweirness, and Elizabeth got Kavanaugh good, and Kavanaugh is okay even if he is a tad arrogant, but he does have good points, I loved the conflict between them, and then they were racing to get the puddle jumper through in a short time, and then shep had the aratus bug attached to his neck, and Elizabeth wore this kind of thin shirt, oh and then leather, and people here know how I feel about Weir in leather.;D

21. Carter or McKay?
Hmm, both, Carter on SG1 and McKay on Atlantis, they're not that great on the opposite shows, but like Carter on Atlantis a little, just not as much as McKay.

22. Dr. Bill Lee or Radek Zelenka?
Bill Lee is geekier and funnier.

23. Stargate the movie (1994) or The Ark Of Truth?
I haven't seen Ark of Truth yet so I've got nothing, if it's anything like the tv series, then I'll probably like it more because I didn't really like the original movie to be honest.

24. Major Lorne or Major Davis?
Lorne, he's cooler and has nice hair.

25. and finally, SG-1 or Atlantis?
Okay well I love both of them and they have their seasons of suck and all that, I'm going to say Atlantis sicne I fell for it first and the whole premise of them being on Atlantis in another Galaxy was what did it, but I love it just a tiny bit more than sg1.

A note and the subtext of Wicked

Just wanted to let anyone out there on my flist who's suddenly seen a comment to an entry 2 days or older, sorry, I just decided to take a short internet hiatus (fine my mother asked me too), and it was more than a few days long, so was just kind of catching up here, and I come back and have seen a few posts about an LJ strike, which for me, since I'm posting now, kind of have no problem with staying away from LJ for 24 hours, well not posting and commenting anyway, got a movie to watch later anyway, and have to play a few people chess.:D

So about Wicked, I saw someone on my flist who just now got into the musical and is basically questioning if she's the only one who sees the obvious subtext between G(a)linda and Elphaba, which is a big 'no', and then explained a few things that give them away. In my opinion I kind of think it's funny that they run around hand in hand singing that they're "just *friends*" (*giggles*), they fight over a guy in tights who cares about being pretty, and would you stand this close to someone you "loathe"(?):

Let's see the whole song 'What is this Feeling?' kind of says a few things, I know that I saw a spoof fic about it once, but can't seem to remember where, but I remember giggling because the author was basically saying that even though flushing and head reeling are for something totally different (*cough*lust*cough*), to hide it they're going to say they're 'loathing', and there are just so many tiny things that I can't think of right now, anyone got some specifically to add, or anyone out there want to completely deny it? I mean I'm cool with people in denial, I've known a couple people who deny the existence of Xena and Gabrielle as a couple, so it's all cool.;D

Anyway I had a couple things to add, one about subtext in general, you know the whole Thelma and Louise thing(?), personally wither way I don't care, I haven't exactly had the chance to watch the movie completely through, just in parts here and there, but got the gist of it, either way I really don't care if they were together or not, doesn't really change it for me, I just thought the whole thing was great, and it was really sad too, ending always makes me cry (it's the part I usually end up seeing), and that's all I've got on it, plus Susan Sarandon and Geena Davie are amazing, speaking of which going to go watch The Fly shortly.

And then the last thing before I'm outta here, it goes with Wicked, was looking for the picture that I posted above and I found this kind of Wicked/Harry Potter spoof of 'Popular':

Death Eater

New moodtheme, the smell of Dr. Pepper and I was tagged!

First, *hugs mystic_meg_gal*, she made the moodtheme I'm using which is Wicked quotes plus Erasure, she knows why, and I'd tag her too but I don't think she really reads my lj (;P), so putting this at the top because I know she at least skims her flist page, and my tagging is required on the bottom of this post.:D

That's all really, I just figured out how to put a moodtheme in, which was fun, needed a change to my cartoon dragons, and found my codes to put a header in, so will have to get one up at some point.

In other news, still figuring out what to send missyvortexdv's way, I'm being told that 'pralines' are a good idea since those are a very Texan thing, they're caramel covered pecans, and she sent me cream clotted fudge (which is all gone, oops;D), and I already know what kind of postcard, now I just need to get out there and get this stuff.:D

Since I was out yesterday for Chess, and shortly after that scheduled job interview with a local fast food place, I was all nicely dressed and freshly showered which meant I smelled like whatever the Lush stuff Hans sent me. So I have honey soap, violet shampoo, and 'sweetie pie' shower jelly, and I'm out at lunch with my mom and siblings and she says after spotting me drinking my Dr. Pepper, that's what I smell like. Lol, that's what I've been smelling like for the past couple days, Dr. Pepper, which kind of makes sense, since after my first use of these products, thought that the combined scent smelled familiar. My mom was telling all the women that this weird stuff that my friend sent made me smell like Dr. Pepper, which I found amusing.

After chess, we pretty much made it home and stayed for about twenty minutes before we all went back out to drop me of for my interview, which I think went okay, I don't really want to go into details since I'm pretty sleepy right now and just getting this up real quick, but I was told to call back Wednesday. And then came home and watched Bee Movie with my siblings which was actually cute. And a few more things.

Julie Goldman makes me giggle, especially in the tiny part in drag as the anti-gay religious minister:

Commitment Ceremony
<lj-embed id="12" />

"I wanna Commitment Ceremony you, say yes, say yes, and be my...domestic partner"

And, the last two things, one, I was tagged(!), forgive me for being a tad excited by that but I don't think anyone in my history of Livejournal, or blogging for that matter has ever tagged me, not counting the 'oh you're tagged if you want it' tags, but I was personally tagged!

Here's the deal: People who have been tagged post their answers and replace any question they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves. Tag 8 people. Those who are tagged cannot refuse (well, I'm saying you can refuse if you really don't want to do it). These 8 people must state who they were tagged by. You cannot tag the person who tagged you.

1. You have 50 dollars in your pocket - what do you do with it?
Put half of it in the bank and spend the other half on something like a book.

2. What is your most guilty pleasure?
Hmm, don't know.

3.Have you ever seen someone die?
Not a human, no.

4.Are you confused as to what lies ahead of you?
No.

5.What was the last movie you saw, for pleasure, and would you recommend it?
Uh, Bee Movie, and yes I would if you're looking for something light and silly.

6.Superman or Batman?
Batman, definitely, he's got the brains and is super cool.

7.If the person you like does not accept you, would you continue to wait for them to change their feelings?
No.

8.If the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do?
Be happy for them and move on.

9.Is there anything that has made you unhappy recently?
Eh, nothing really big I can think of.

10.If you could have chosen at birth whether to be a boy or a girl, which would you be?
Being a girl, yeah:D

11.Which of the 7 Deadly Sins do you think you relate to the most & why?
hmmm...have no clue

11. If yes which one?
All the world needs is love.:D

19. What type of friends do you have?
the friend kind, you know those people who nice to me and I'm nice back, and so they're 'friends'.:D

20. What place most speaks to you?
The World :D

Alright no here comes the part where I get to tag people, oh yeah and I was tagged by rodlox by the way, anyway who I'm tagging:

alyssa22
claudiasharon
dr_shweir
fififolle
johnliz4ever
velvet_midnight
veronicmae
vickysg1
wannateee_1984

And then this other meme I've seen floating around, doubt anyone can really challenge me since I pretty much talk about anything, but if you see something missing go ahead.:D

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on yaoi, favorite type of underwear, graphic techniques, etc. Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other.
